4 Apps to increase your productivity

Working on your own business and creative projects can be very fulfilling and exciting, but even the the most motivated of us can easily fall prey to distractions. Or you can feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work that needs doing. Trust me - these four apps to increase productivity really help you to get shit done!

Go Fucking Work

This app is hilarious! This plugin simply blocks you from the known timewasting website urls such as Facebook, Stuff, NZ Herald. Then it abuses you if you still manage to visit them on autopilot, with remarks such as “YOU'RE DYING SOON. WORK”, “YOU’RE A LOSER. WORK.”, and so on.

It's time to stop being so fucking unproductive. Go fucking work. This plugin is for Chrome browsers (which is my favourite browser).

If you love to organise your life you may fall in love with Trello. Create ‘To Do Lists’ with speed. Collaborate and assign tasks then drag them into a completed list. Or keep the Trello board to yourself and create deadlines, visions and goals. This is a great place to keep track of new ideas, leads, contacts and milestones.

Google Docs

I’ve got a huge crush on Google Docs and I’ve already written an entire post on why it’s the best. A fantastically convenient location to write and easily access your business plan, website copy plus your countless other miscellaneous ideas.

This is a great tool I use to get feedback on my web design mockups from clients. It makes collaborating super easy with commenting pins which I can mark as resolved or reply with my own questions and suggestions. This can really speed up progress and is an easy way to give and receive feedback when meeting up in person isn’t possible.

Let me know if you think I’ve left any apps out - I tried to keep this list brief because another great way to increase productivity is to not get bogged down with too many apps!
